…but they need to avoid news feed pollution. It was already pretty grating seeing too many Foursquare check-ins. Now that’s going to step up another order of magnitude.

Yes, already this weekend I’ve seen my Facebook stream start to fill up with inane check-ins. This has also gone the way of Foursquare, with users adding locations such as ‘my house’, ‘my sofa’ etc.
With Foursquare, I think that a good percentage of people refrain from sharing EVERY check-in through Social Media channels. Facebook however, will naturally share Facebook places check-in with Facebook.
My thoughts would have been to create a separate ‘tab’ on the Facebook homepage called something like ‘Places’ and for users to be able to click into a separate stream to see where their friends are checking-in to.
